GBRacing Crash Protectors / Frame Sliders are considerably different to today’s existing frame protectors/crash mushrooms. Only high quality injection moulded engineering materials are used. One such material is an Impact Modified Nylon material, chosen for its tremendous impact resistance. Traditionally frame protectors are CNC manufactured from extruded solid materials, such as Delrin, Nylon etc. These materials are then CNC machined into various shapes. The choice of materials used may indeed be correct for their machining qualities but not necessarily the best for the application.

GBRacing designs frame protectors with variable wall sections, absorbing impact and distortion within the moulded structure itself. This absorbtion process reduces the impact transfer through to the frame.

High quality Stainless Steel A2 or Titanium alloy Ti 6AL-V4, bolts are used throughout the range for their strength and malleability. The internal Steel plated structure that the bolt passes through is designed as a one piece construction. The outer moulding is a 2 part moulding, Crash Mushroom first then a spacer.

GBRacing crash mushrooms, or bungs, are generally 25% shorter in length than most other similar products. This is because longer frame protectors are more likely to transfer greater leverage forces on impact and in some circumstances may increase the chances of the bike flipping. The GBRacing design allows flexural movement along the length of the moulded protector, in 2 main areas, as well as absorbing the initial impact, thus reducing transfer forces during the slide.
